I’m made up of sugar and spice and everything nice… No, not really. I’m made mostly of spice. Like the hot spicy sauce you get on those wings found at your local pub. You know, the kind that burn like crazy and gets your heart racing… yet you just cant get enough of them.
I’ve been told I’m crazy smart. Probably a little more crazy but that’s what drives my work. I test the limits and drive ideas to the edge.
I studied Fine Arts at the University of Albany then coupled that with an Interactive Media degree from the Art Institute of Seattle. So, I pretty much was born and raised in the digital world of marketing.
The synergy between being artistic and knowing the technicalities of the web has allowed me to really understand the best ways to target, engage and properly convert people. Isn’t that what business comes down to? PEOPLE. Knowing what those people want and then giving it to them. Its as simple as that.
I’ve been in the industry almost twenty years. Sometimes when I say that I shock myself, can I really be that old? After graduating I worked in NYC doing web design and 3d animation for CDROM presentations. You’re probably like “what the heck are CDROM’s?” See, I told you I’ve been doing this for a while!
After a few years I moved back home to Saratoga Springs and started a web design & development company from my bedroom called Virtual Flow. It was hysterical, my first employees had to sit on my bed and do their work. I grew the company ten fold and developed proprietary eCommerce Systems, Content Management Systems (CMS) , and Project Management Systems. We also didSearch Engine Optimization (SEO), but back then it was easy to get ranked, you just had throw some keywords on the site where these days you have to implement a numerous amount of tactics and produce a ton of content.
After selling the company I ended up at an advertising agency, FingerPaint Marketing, leading their web services efforts. That was a fun job but I’m not made to work for someone else. I’ve learned I’m forever an entrepreneur. I then started Kariann Morris LLC providing research, marketing plans, and implementation for clients such as Albany Medical Center, Saratoga Hospital, Saratoga Springs Tourism, Excelsior College, and Emma Willard School.
Realizing my opportunities for growth I’ve re-branded the company to what you see here, MadAddie Marketing. A full service marketing firm concentrating on International Marketing.
